A few miles outside Palm Springs, you'll find the beautiful Joshuah Tree National Park. One of Palm Springs' "must do" - The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway has the steepest vertical cable rise in the U.S. (second steepest in the world). Clibs to an elevation of 2,643 feet to a three-story Mountain Station with a cocktail lounge, restaurant, gift shop and ovservation decks. At the top you can explore the 13,000-acre Mt. San Jacinto State Park and Wilderness Area, woth 54 miles of trails, rustic campgrounds and granite outcroppings, providing clear views of the desert cities below.
